At the end of this month - Dec07 - it will have been 35 years since I departed Korat and the ABCCC… I just came to this page to see how it was displaying and when I saw Korat’s temperature of 78 degrees, it made me think about my last month in the unit. For my last month, I had moved out of my bungalow across from the Bus Factory at the south end of town on the main highway to Bangkok and into a downtown hotel, directly across from the open market. I had a 2nd or 3rd floor balcony where I could watch all the set-up and tear-down of the market each day… Those last 30 days in-country were some of the best of my tour. It made me wish I’d lived in the middle of downtown all along…
